Despite generating a monthly income of 22 billion rupees, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is facing huge losses of up to 12 billion rupees each month. This deficit has led to a total loss of approximately 740 billion rupees for the airline. To make matters worse, PIA has taken a loan of 260 billion rupees from commercial banks, which is guaranteed by the government.

Adding to their financial struggles, PIA is not paying the required 1.25 billion rupees in taxes to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and is also failing to pay more than 1 billion rupees per month to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). The situation has become even more dire as the finance ministry of Pakistan has refused to bear the interest and losses on PIA's debt. This means that the burden of the losses falls squarely on the airline itself.

These financial troubles have resulted in serious concerns about PIA's ability to continue operating effectively and efficiently. Unless significant measures are taken to address these losses and improve revenue, PIA's financial sustainability remains uncertain.
