Manzoor Pashteen, leader of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement, was arrested by police on his way to Kohat this morning. Those arrested include PTM Leader Manzoor Pashteen, Bilal Pakhtun, Idrees Pashteen and Zohaib. Kohat police arrested them while they were on their way to Banhu Khel.
Regarding the arrest, PTM leader Mohsin Dawad said that Manzoor Pashteen was barred from participating in the ongoing sit-in in Banhu Khel and was arrested along with his associates. He said that Manzoor Pashteen was going to participate in the sit-in which has been going on since March 15 that he has been arrested. He demanded that Manzoor Pashteen along with his associates be rescued.
It may be recalled that a sit-in has been going on in Jani Khel area of Banhu district for the last three days against the 'murder' of a local man. Manzoor Pashteen was going with his colleagues to participate in the same sit-in.
Kohat police spokesman Fazal Naeem confirmed that Manzoor Pashtun was stopped from going to Jani Khel at the Khushal Garh Bridge police post in Kohat at around 7am that morning.
However, according to Fazal Naeem, if further details come in this regard, the media will be informed that he has been arrested in an old or new case.
