A protest was staged in front of Karachi Press Club on Friday against the raid on the house of Qadir Khan Advocate, lawyer of Ali Wazir, a captive leader of Pashtun Tahfuz Movement, and the enforced disappearance of his son Asad Khan after his arrest.

Addressing the protesters, the speakers said that Qadir Khan Advocate has been targeted based on being Ali Wazir's lawyer. Ali Wazir speaks of parliament and the rule of law in the country. There is no pressure on the lawyers of the violators of the Constitution, traitors of the country and spies of India but peaceful citizens and those who are fighting against extremism are being targeted.

"We warn that if such tactics are not used, again and again, it could lead to resistance rather than condemnation," he said.

"We warn that if such tactics are not used, again and again, it could lead to resistance rather than condemnation," he said.

He also demanded the Sindh government to hold the Rangers officers accountable and ensure the rule of law. The PPP is a party with a democratic tradition and it must stop the unrest of the police and Rangers.

He demanded the immediate release of Asad Khan, son of Qadir Khan Advocate.

He said that in case of non-release of Asad Khan, the protest would be extended.

The speakers said that no one is safe in this state and they would continue to unite and raise their voice against this oppression. "If we do not raise our voice for Qadir Khan Advocate today, the same will happen to us tomorrow. His son has been taken away by Rangers and his family members have been harassed" according to speakers.
