Manguchar - relatives of Baloch missing persons stage a protest, block national highway
In Manguchar this morning, relatives of forcibly disappeared Baloch persons blocked the national highway for several hours, demanding the recoveries of theirs missing loved ones. In an effort to bring attention to the release of their loved ones, the relatives of forcibly disappeared persons, such as Shahan Baloch, Naveed Baloch, Muhammad Hassan Langau, Mehrullah Langau, Kaifatullah Nichari, Qazafi Nichari, and others, staged a sit-in, blocking the Quetta to Karachi highway.
As a result, hundreds of vehicles and numerous travelers were stranded on both sides. The relatives' demand was that the Pakistani forces and intelligence agencies have unlawfully subjected their loved ones to enforced disappearances and that they have been suffering in torture cells for years, which has compelled them to block the highway in protest. However, the state authorities and higher officials seem indifferent to their plight.
The protesters stated that no responsible official from the administration has come forward for any negotiations or to provide even a small consolation.
