Protest sit-in of students against Turbat University administration continues for the second day Baloch Students Action Committee (BSAC) protested against the Turbat University administration in Turbat, the main city of Kech district of Balochistan, for the second day. The protestors say that no delegation has come so far to hear the demands and negotiate on behalf of the university administration, that's why they will continue their sit-in until the demands are approved. A large number of students have surrounded the admin block and staged a sit-in in front of the main gate. It should be noted that Professor Manzoor Baloch of Balochistan University was prevented from participating in a lecture program arranged by students at Turbat University last days, while the students were also prevented from setting up a book stall in the university. A charter of demands issued by Baloch Students Action Committee is as below - "We, on behalf of Baloch Students Action Committee are urgently addressing crucial students' concerns at Turbat University and request immediate resolution, keeping in mind the legal rights afforded to students: 1.Main Gate Entry Allowance: Students, parents, teachers, and guests hold the inherent legal right to access the university premises without unwarranted restrictions, ensuring an inclusive and accessible environment. 2 Main Campus Activity Permission Students are legally entitled to engage in study circles, book stalls, and admission camps at the main campus, fostering an environment conducive to academic growth and exploration. 3.Hostel Event Permission. Residents of university hostels maintain the legal right to organize and participate in social and educational events within the hostel premises, contributing to a vibrant and supportive community. 2nd There is a ban on other non-hostel residing students of university of Turbat and guests to visit the hostel students for purpose of group study or any other necessary work including staying by such guests in the hostel. Such restriction should be annulled immediately. 4. Parental Consent for Student Participation at Outside Campus Activities Female students are entitled to the legal protection of obtaining parental consent before participating in activities such as F.C camps respecting both individual autonomy and familial rights. 5.Protection Against Profiling, Threats, and False Information Students possess the legal right to be safeguarded against profiling, threats, and the dissemination of false information, safeguarding their privacy and personal rights. 6.Protection Against Intimidation by Disciplinary Committees: committees is not only unethical but also contravenes these rights.
